1946 Chris Craft 17'
Deluxe Runabout
Here is a very early 1946 Chris Craft 17' Deluxe Runabout we recently restored. It has a new 5200 style bottom with ocume marine plywood inner and mahogany outer planking with new keel, chines and mostly new bottom framing. Sides and decks were also replaced with book-matched Philippine mahogany. The majority of the decks came from one large timber that we resawed in house. The end result was worth the time spent. Although there was significant wood replacement, this boat retains her original Chris Craft K engine, which was rebuilt many years ago and performs extremely well, and retains all her original running gear and hardware. The wiring has been replaced and replicates the original in style and colors. The upholstery also stays true to the authenticity in construction and materials, with spring bases and kapok filled cushions. She was awarded Best In Show at Southern New England and First Place at Baystate Woodies and Lake Hopatcong.
