This little1947 Chris Craft Special Runabout is hull number R-16-796 out of a total production run of 1040 boats. About 80 percent of the original wood has been replaced. The bottom is a 5200 style with ocume plywood inner and white cedar outer planking with new framing, keel and chines. Hull sides are eastern white cedar and the decks and transom are mahogany. She still retains her original 95 HP Chris Craft K engine which has been rebuilt with new piston rings, bearings, and valve guides. All of her original hardware was rechromed and the running gear has been refurbished. Wiring is the original cloth style, color matched to the original wiring it replaces. Upholstery is the original style kapok filled cushions. This small boat has won some big awards including Best In Show at Southern New England and Baystate Woodies and a Best In Class at Lake Hopatcong shows.
