1948 Chris Craft 17'

Deluxe Runabout

This 1948 Chris Craft Deluxe Runabout restoration required extensive wood replacement including new bottom, sides and decks. Surprisingly, nearly all of the original framing was in good condition and therefore saved with the exception of stem, keel and chines which were replaced. The bottom is a 5200 stlye with ocume plywood inner and mahogany outer planking. Sides, decks and transom are mahogany. She still has her original 95 HP Chris Craft K engine which has been rebuilt and retains all of her original running gear. All hardware is original to the boat and has been rechromed. New wiring matches the original in style and colors. Although the bulk of the restoration was done by us, the owner of this boat played a large role in the restoration, from sourcing the lumber, to installing the upholstery, to applying the final coats of varnish.  This boat, now known as Park Avenue in honor of its original delivery destination, has won many awards. Some of which include Best In Show at Baystate Woodies, and First place awards at Lake Hopatcong and Southern New England.
